Fresh bid for NHB top job
Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India has invited fresh applications for the top job at the Delhi-based National Housing Bank -- the regulatory body for local housing finance companies. This is the second time that the central bank has advertised for the post.
Earlier, RV Verma, executive director of NHB and KL Dhingra, CMD of Hudco, had been shortlisted for the job but there is speculation that the government wanted to cast the search wider to look at more candidates before identifying the right person for the assignment.
The post has been technically vacant after S Sridhar was appointed CMD of Central Bank of India in March 2009, although he continues to hold concurrent charge of NHB.
